Donna Karan will come to Israel to receive Shenkar College Honorary Fellowship Award
The Renowned International Designer Donna Karan will come to Israel in May to receive this year’s recipient of the Israeli Shenkar College Honorary Fellowship Award. The Fellowship will be presented at a Gala Event, Thursday evening, May 10, 2007 in Tel Aviv.
While in Israel, Karan will present a Master Class to Shenkar’s Fashion Design students. The American Committee for Shenkar College in Israel is setting up a scholarship in her name to provide funds to promising Fashion Design students.
A retrospective exhibit of Donna Karan’s work and design philosophy, “Journey of a Woman”, will open in the Lorber Galleries at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. The exhibit will be open to the Israeli public following the May 10 opening until June 10, 2007.
Honorary Fellows of the college are individuals who have left a significant mark in various fields, such as science, art, design, culture, education, business and politics. Former honorees of this prestigious award are Hans Stern, Professor David Samuel OBE, Suzy Menkes, Fashion Report for the International Herald Tribune and Silvia Venturini Fendi, Designer at the Italian Fendi Fashion House, Hans Stern, Professor David Samuel OBE, Lord Sieff and Alber Elbaz.
